Leda Lake Eco Park donation update. Melinda will review previous meeting minutes to confirm the approved donation amount for the Leda Lake Eco Park and will coordinate the issuance of a cheque to the Municipality accordingly

Chamber Website: Martie provided an update on website development and suggested exploring Wix, which currently offers a 50% discount on premium plans—approximately $74/month for the first year. Wix is user-friendly, supports blogs, event listings, online payments (e.g., membership fees), and product sales (e.g., Musical Ride prints). The platform allows for sub-sites, which could be offered to local organizations (e.g., Leda Lake Development) through annual subscriptions, including occasional advertising opportunities. A Wix Business account accommodates up to 100 users, offers unlimited storage, and enables payment processing. The proposed structure would position the Chamber site as the master hub, with member organizations having individual pages. This adds value to Chamber membership by enhancing online presence and marketing support. Automation features can distribute monthly updates and events to members, reducing administrative tasks. A strong online presence is essential for credibility and engagement. Martie will consult her IT contact to prepare a presentation demonstrating the site’s functionality. Potential funding may be available through Community Futures. A Motion to spend up to a $100.00 per month on a new website was brought forward by Nigel, 2nd Laurence, approved. Martie has been authorized to assist her IT to assist with getting it started with “Wix”
Community Garden at Chamber Quarter: Possibly postponed this until next year. Laurence will take further action to see if there is any interest for this year.
Highschool Bursary: Erickson Collegiate Request for Bursary
- A motion was brought forward by Laurence to award a $500.00 bursary to a Erickson Collegiate student, seconded by Brenden, motion approved. Melinda will advise the Collegiate.
